TECHNOLOGY
TECHNOLOGIES THAT WE USED
We empower business growth through innovative digital solutions and strong partnerships.
Challenges
- Structuring deeply layered content: Deities, festivals, vrats, aartis, kathas and temples overlap. The same deity appears in multiple rituals and festivals, and a single pooja has its own steps, samagri and timings. The content needed a relational structure so nothing is duplicated or hard to find.
- Android device fragmentation: The audience uses a wide range of phones, from budget devices with limited RAM to newer flagships, across many screen sizes, resolutions and Android versions. The layout and performance had to hold up on all of them.
- Hindi and Devanagari rendering across Android versions and manufacturers: Conjunct characters, matras and long-form text can render differently depending on the device's default fonts and OS customisations. Typography had to stay readable and consistent everywhere.
- Performance with heavy, text-rich screens: Long vrat kathas and detailed vidhi pages can cause slow scrolling and high memory use, especially on low-end Android phones, which make up a large part of the audience.
Solutions
- Designed a category-based architecture organised by deity, festival, vrat and ritual type, with cross-linked content, so users reach the right vidhi in a few taps.
- Built responsive layouts and tested them across screen sizes, densities and Android versions, so the app looks and performs consistently.
- Standardised Hindi typography with tested fonts, line spacing and text sizing so Devanagari renders cleanly across manufacturers and OS versions.
- Optimised list rendering and screen loading in React Native so long pooja and katha pages stay smooth on low-end devices.
- Integrated a Panchang / Hindu calendar so tithis and festival information appear when they are relevant.
- Built a simple interface with large text, clear navigation and minimal steps, suited to all age groups.
- Set up a content management backend so new poojas, aartis and festival content can be published without a new app release.
Outcomes
- 1 lakh+ downloads and a 4.0 rating on Google Play.
- One app replacing multiple pooja books, with the right vidhi or aarti a few taps away.
- Smooth reading on both high-end and budget Android phones.
- Fresh festival content available without waiting for Play Store updates.
- A consistent experience across Android devices and screen sizes.
